Hi.
Could work if you tell the display that your car is a vectra.
Connect Tech2.
Select the CID (after selecting year, car (vectra) and engine).
As the Vectra B was also available with 1.7l Diesel it MAY work.
reprogram with Vectra code index.
This may spoil your BC indication (fuel consumption and km).
Try to find a code index with the same tyres as yours.
Codes: http://www.opel-infos.de/ under "downloads"
Good luck!!

Hi Augek, thank you for your suggestion, but before I put this question here, I was experiment your idea, but Vectra C needs a “CanDi” between Tech II and Car, so when I select Vectra C, Tech II wants a CanDi unit, and Astra G don’t use this unit. So I can’t access do my system with Vectra C option selected on Tech II.
When I select Astra 2002 -> Infotainment -> CID/GID -> Program on Tech II appears a Menu with an option like: “Define Colour Scheme“ but only give permition to change between Opel or Vauxhall.
I will try to apply my CID on Vectra C (diagnostic pin and alimentation pins are the same), and with Tech II configure Colour Scheme for Vectra C, and after this I will apply my CID on my car.
On summer holydays I have installed Electronic Climate Control on my Car.
Here some photos of work...
Thanks!

Hello Sport Van.
What a GREAT work . How many hours did you work on that?? The inside looks really good now! Only one year ago you have had a "normal" dashboard - and now -> RESPECT!!!
I like your car, it looks very noble and decent. Now you only need a OPC front bumper. What plans do you have with the outside - i think inside is nothing to improve now .
Greetings

@ sport van:
The tech2 doesn't check if it is really connected to vectra B.
Even if you connect it to your astra and select vectra it would work.
For accessing the CID it doesn't matter what car you use.
Try vectra B (Bravo) NOT C so you don't need the CanDi Module.
You can do this in your astra and then program a vectra B code index.
By the way: could you please check code index 010 for your Astra 1.7 DTi CID?
It is for the same tyre size but an other engine, may be the fuel consumption is correct then without any adjustment.
If you do please tell me the results.
Regards
AugeK
Hi Sport van,
you've done a really nice work on your car! I like it!
I am also thinking about the installation of CID and NCDR.
- Can you tell me which Radio provides the better sound? CDR500 or NCDR1100? This was your question originally a while ago
- What does "Bose System" mean on the display? As far as I know, the Radio is mady by Siemens VDO
and the loudspeakers in the doors should be the same as of the CDR500. So what is Bose in this system?
Update to Code Index on Y17DTi with GID/CID:
I tried the following Codes:
Code Engine
010 X18XE1/Z18XE
012 X20XEV
029 Y22DTR
The average fuel consumption is 0.6 - 0.7 l too low
With Code 023 (Z20LET) it is only half the real consumption.
So there are some codes left regarding the tyre size:
Code Engine
006 Z12XE/Z14XE/Z16XE
008 X16SZR
013 Z22SE
017 Y20DTH/DTL
021 Z16SE
Did somebody already try one of these codes???
My dealer is running out of patience ;-(
Sorry people, for answer only now, but the time is thing that not exists in my life, eheheh.
Hi Darth Maul,Zitat von Darth Maul
Thanks for your comment! The installation of Electronic Climate Control spends me +/- 30 Hours!!! It was four days, after a day work until 1, 2, 3 am!
But the work is perfect! All functions really right!
In exterior, after the ECC application I was bought the OPC front and "laterals" (I don’t know the terms, but I post photos).
I like my car, I think that is simple, but beauty
Thank you for your help AugeK,Zitat von AugeK
I know, the Tech II "don't know" the model, but the Vectra B has the same presentation of Astra G only CID of Vectra C until 2004 has that presentation... and Vectra C has Can Bus... I don't see the solution for this, but... I will try something...
Hi Schubee,Zitat von Schubee
Thank you! I think that the installation of CID with NCDR is an excellent alteration for Astra! Give too much life to the inside of the car, and the system is too practical!
I made the same question when I decided to apply the NCDR! The sound is really better than CDR 500, I think that CDR 500, for a simple radio has a good sound, but NCDR is more potent (have more power), and the sound has more definition, and sound fidelity. I like a good sound on a car, and I think that the NCDR makes a very good work! You will like.
The NCDR/NCDC was available with Bose Sound System (case of Omega), the system has another loudspeakers, an amplifier and bass box. So, without the “extra” Bose equipment, the radio is normal, but the definition is too good, because it was prepared to Bose Sound System, and if the font of sound is not good, the amplifier doesn’t make miracles…
So, the CID that I bought to my car, comes from an Omega, that was Bose Sound System, and because this, appears Bose on CID. But the radio can be applied with the Bose system.
Excellent List AugeK! Thanks!Zitat von AugeK
I tried some codes, but I don’t remember, I only know that 006 is the more similar to the correct value (with the correction of +1.5 L/100 on Tech II).
Now, some photos of my car now...
Regards for all!
Very nice work ! Optically as well as technically !
Best regards!

New small modification,
I found a Vectra GTS panel destroyed on scrap, and I brought the pointers.
I apply it on Astra panel, and the effect seems very good.
What do you think?
Sind hinter den Nadeln LED's oder einfach nur die Nadeln getauscht?

I don't understand German, but I think that you are asking me if I use Led's on pointers ilumintion.Zitat von schraxx
No, I'm using the normal lamps of Astra panel (three lights), but I change the original 1,5 Watt lights, by 2 Watt lights (the same lamps used on a TID/MID/GID).
Looks great !!

Hi,
I’m trying to put external image on my CID.
I use a VGA plug from my PC, to extract the RGB signal and synchronism. But the result is no good:
I think that is a problem with the synchronism.
Someone can help me, please?
PS.: After my RGB tests, using the radio, the maps appears ok, but yesterday, when I put “show map” on NCDR, the map appears like the images that I put here. After I turn off, and turn on the radio, the maps appears correctly! And it still functions right. Do you know something about this?
Thanks!
Some new fotos of my Astra...
It is hot, here, in Portugal!
look at my galerie! I have DVB-T, DVD, DIVX, VCD, SVCD, MP3, USB MMS, MMC, SC, CF on my NCDR1500/CID

Hi People, I have been too much busy, but I have news about my car.
Mine 1.7 DTI gave me some problems, and with an opportunity to buy a Coupé 2.2 DTI, I did not think twice, and exchanged the Astra 1.7 by the Coupé 2.2.
However, I still had done him more an alteration, installation of Bose system, from an Opel Omega Caravan.
Some photos of the installation:
After this, I decide exchange my Astra, but when selling, recalled part of the equipment installed, here remain the last photos of the car altered by me, and the photos when selling, already without part of the extras.
With extras:

Photos after withdrawal os equipment:
I take equipment from my Sport Van to apply on my new Astra Coupé, so, some photos of the new car…
I have a question for you:
How can I have to put the Cruise Control led on, when I’m using it?
What is the pin, on Y22DTR command unit, that I have the mass signal to instrument panel?? (My engine is the last generation of 2.2 DTI)
On 1.7 DTI I used the pin 23 from command unit, to pin 14 of the instrument panel (with AugeK help!).
And on the 2.2 DTI, what pin I can use to Cruise Control Led?
Thank you for help!
