http://s1119.photobucket.com/albums/k631/zsfg/I am sorry, I don't know how to write my question in German, however I can read the German language and hope someone can answer me ( if you like in German).

I own a Astra G X20XEV caravan from 1999. The X20XEV has gone out and replaced for a c20XE engine.
All went well, except my rev counter. It jumps up and down when the engine is running and is showing to many revs. When the engine runs idle (approx. 900 revs) the counter shows 2000 and it's always dancing.

I have cut the green wire from X20XEV ecu to the tacho and connected the tacho to the green wire from the C20XE coil.

Who knows what went wrong?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Is Coil not ECU?

Your ecu is one of the C20XE? Then you get the signal from there.
You'll find it at the plug on 43rd position.

I have 2 ECU's, The X20XEV ECU and the C20XE ECU. I need them both to let it all work fine. However pin 43 is according to my information for CO calibration.

By the way a coil is a Zündspule in German.

Makes sense;)
I looked in this wiring diagram.

If I should have a M2.8 ECU you are totally right, however I have a M2.5 ECU from a Kadett E Gsi 16v. Unfortunately this ECU doesnīt have a direct rev counter signal

Than its Pin 6 right?

That's odd, when I check my M2.5 diagram, there's no pin 6 in use. Another diagram is mentioning pin 6 as rev counter signal.

This week I'll try your suggestion, thank you very much!

Which wire colour is pin 6?

Yes, i looked again by Astra F^^ Motronic 2.5 .

Try pin 6.
The Astra may to new for the Coil signal.

I'm sure there are more ways to make an engineswop work, however the way I did, is very easy.

You were right. Pin 6 was not in use, however the signal is there. Guess what, the rev counter works!!

Thank you very much for your help!
